In the inaugural Marin Mile, nearly 250 participants ran a mile on the track. Ages of Marin Milers ranged from 4 to 78 years old and Olympic Trials Steeplechaser Dana Klein set a new Marin County soil record with a mile time of 4:47.80.

With temperatures peaking at 90°, races ran hot and fast. The day started with a battle between an 88 year old and 6 year old and ended with some of the best in the Bay Area duking it out on the track. No soil records were broken but the day was punctuated by Chris Olley’s 4:07.59 mile, a new meet record and surely one of the fastest Miles run in Marin’s history.
